A Few Rotten Potatoes: Jeremiah 29:13

It is so easy in this world we live in to lose ourselves.

To lose what we believe in.

We think we can constantly surround ourselves with negative Nancy's' and even worse we tend to believe that they will have no power in swaying our opinion on important matters.

We think we can hold on to our beliefs no matter what.

But the truth of the matter is that when we constantly hear the negative input of others we all too often tend to think in the same perspective that they do.

That one simple thing has more power than you can imagine. It can affect the way you raise and parent your children. It can affect your relationship with your friends, family and even your spouse. Most importantly it can affect your relationship with God.

We have to be careful of this.

We are called to spread Gods word. Not just the Preacher down the street & not just the girl next door either. You are called. I am called. WE ALL ARE CALLED.

This requires us to walk and talk with all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds.

& Yes some of the people we encounter walking down this road have negative attitudes.

It is still okay to talk to these people. To share God's love with them. It is what we are supposed to do.

It is, however, our responsibility not to adopt the negative views of others.

It will all to quickly distract you from God's great plan for your life. . . .

The other day there was a mystery smell in my home. I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked under the sofa, in the bathroom, washed the laundry, you name it.

I couldn't find it anywhere. The next morning I went to set out some potatoes for dinner.

Boy I tell you I found my mystery smell for sure!

Those few potatoes had the ability to stink up the whole house!

This made me also realize that a few negative people can stink up our lives as well if we are not aware and in control of ourselves.

The beauty in this is that God's loving grace can always pull us back to where we need to be.

No matter how far away we stray. Whether it was on accident or not. .. . God's amazing love for us is there if we want it. But we have to WANT IT. WHOLE HEARTEDLY

So whether that one rotten potato has caused a huge stench in your life, or whether you have realized that you ARE the rotten potato, all you have to do is come to Christ, or for others, come BACK to him.

It reminds me of an amazing bible verse that I wanted to share with you.

I hope that it encourages you the same way that it does me!

Jeremiah 29:13

"YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME; WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART"

Now there is some food for thought!

All Our Thanks,
The Mommy Life <3
